Find & track my super

If you've changed jobs, moved house or changed your name, some of your super may be sitting in an old account, or with the ATO. You can see every account you have, in one place, through myGov linked to the ATO. It takes about 10 minutes and it's free.

Four steps

How to find all your super.

1

Sign in to myGov

Go to my.gov.au. No account? Create one, then link the Australian Taxation Office.

2

Super → Fund details

In ATO online services, select Super, then Fund details. Every account the ATO knows about is listed.

3

Spot lost super

"Contact fund" means a lost account still with the fund. "ATO-held super" means the fund paid it to the ATO.

4

Claim or combine

Select Manage → Transfer super to move it into a fund you keep. Check the cautions below first.

📱 Prefer your phone? The ATO app does the same: Super → Fund details.☎️ No myGov? ATO lost super search line 13 28 65🗣️ Talk to a person: ATO super line 13 10 20Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander helpline 13 10 30

Can't see super you know about? The ATO says your details may not match. Update your details with the ATO (myGov → ATO → My profile) and with your fund, then call 13 28 65. You can also post the ATO's paper form, Searching for lost and unclaimed super (NAT 2476).

Keep it tracked

Stop super getting lost again.

  • Keep your name, address and email up to date with the ATO and every fund you hold.
  • Make sure each fund has your TFN. Give it to the fund directly, never to anyone who asks by text or email.
  • When you start a new job, check which fund your employer is paying into. If you think super isn't being paid, see the ATO's unpaid super guidance.
  • Run the ATO's free super health check once a year.

Before you combine

Combining accounts can cost you, so check three things.

🛡️ Insurance

Closing a fund usually ends its life, TPD and income protection cover. If your health has changed you may not get it back. Line up the cover you need before you roll over.

💲 Fees & exit

Compare fees and investment returns first. The ATO's YourSuper comparison tool is a good start.

📄 Special features

Defined benefit funds, old policies with guarantees, and SMSFs need a closer look. Moving out can mean giving up a benefit for good.

  • Whether combining makes sense, and what you'd give up
  • Fees, investment option and contributions checked against your goals
  • Clients can see their super in the FinForce client portal

We will never ask for your myGov password or TFN by email, text or web form. Don't enter them anywhere on this site.
