Financial adviser in Brisbane
FinForce is a financial advice practice at Level 7, 190 Edward Street, Brisbane City. Shay has been an authorised adviser since 18 October 2011 and is an Authorised Representative (AR 000412776) of Financial Force Pty Ltd, AFSL 238337. FinForce is authorised under Financial Force Pty Ltd AFSL 238337 (CAR 001241242). We give personal advice on super, retirement, investments, SMSFs, insurance and planning for business owners.
What we do
Personal financial advice, not a product sale.
A financial adviser looks at your whole position (income, super, debts, assets, family and goals) and recommends a strategy that is in your best interests. In Australia that duty is set by law, and any personal advice must be put in writing in a Statement of Advice.
Our team covers:
- Retirement and financial planning, including retirement planning in Brisbane
- Super advice: contributions, consolidation, investment options and insurance inside super
- Investments: shares, ETFs and managed funds
- SMSF advice
- Business owners: lining up the business, super and an exit
- Debt strategy before any loan is arranged
Who we help
People who want a plan they understand.
Most of our clients are business owners, professionals and families who are busy, have built something, and want it organised: when they can stop work, how much super they will have, whether their investments fit their goals, and what happens to the family if something goes wrong.
We meet in person in the Brisbane CBD or online, so clients outside the city and across Queensland can work with us too.
Checking an adviser
How to check any Brisbane financial adviser.
- Search their name on ASIC’s Financial Advisers Register. It shows their licensee, authorisations and qualifications history.
- Ask for the Financial Services Guide. It sets out who they are, what they can advise on, how they are paid and how to complain.
- Ask how fees work before you commit. Every fee is set out in writing before you commit. See how our fees work.
- Ask what happens after the first plan: reviews, ongoing service and how to stop.
More detail: how to check a financial adviser is licensed.
General information only. It does not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs. Consider the relevant PDS and our Financial Services Guide, and get personal advice before acting.
Common questions
Is a financial adviser the same as a financial planner?
Mostly, yes. In Australia both must be registered on ASIC’s Financial Advisers Register to give personal advice to retail clients. More on the difference.
